  1. If you are even dreaming of becoming an insurance agent, run, not walk, RUN the other way. I was an insurance agent for 30 years. With a CAIB. Made less than $42k in 2020 in the expensive Fraser Valley BC area. You are always promised better pay or hours if only you accomplished a little more. Another professional designation, a few more courses. When I received my CAIB, I received new business cards with my designation shown.Not a raise, not even a greeting card congratulating me. You are considered a professional and are excluded from the labour act regulations, but will be expected to work nights, weekends and statutory holidays. You will be threatened and sworn at by customers and treated like an expendable and disposable commodity by your employer. Run away from this career.
